new recipe & project :) :)

hello all :)
last night, i was feeling pretty crafty and creative in the kitchen, so i searched up a recipe i bookmarked earlier this week as well as a DIY project i have been dying to try! let's start with the recipe...

Homemade Pizza Rolls
borrowed from: Tidy Mom Blog

What You Will Need
-one can of refrigerated pizza crust {i used Pillsbury}
-garlic salt
-italian seasoning
-sliced and chopped pepperoni {i bought mini pep's}
-shredded cheese
-1/2 cup parmesan cheese
-marinara sauce {used Ragu Old World Style Marinara}
-wax paper
-rolling pin
-crisco

Directions
-preheat oven to 425
-dust wax paper with flour
then...
1.) roll out the dough
2.) add garlic salt & italian seasoning along with pep's & cheeses
3.) roll into a log
4.) cut into 1'' slices or so and place on lightly greased pan

*cook for 10-12 minutes or until lightly brown*
serve with marinara sauce :)

mmm..they were delicious and very easy to make!

onto my first DIY project!... :)
one day i was perusing different DIY blogs and came across www.kevinandamanda.com. its a great little site filled with DIY projects, recipes, and even free fonts! well, i found this project a little over a month ago and immediately knew i wanted to make this myself; however, it was right before i wedding, so i knew i wouldn't have time until after we got hitched! sooo, yesterday i decided to make the little project:
 it's a jewelry hanger :) ahh, so precious! well, i was thinking about switching the project up a little bit. you see, i have just started wearing hoop earrings and such, so my collection is slim. therefore, i put my thinking cap on and realized that i could use this in our office! ..and instead of hanging earrings, i could use baby clothespins we have and hang little pictures or post-it notes from the wire! :)

since i was at walmart yesterday evening getting the ingredients for the pizza rolls, i decided to pick up all the things needed to make the picture frame thingy! the best part about this project is that it costs only $5-$7!
*frame for {$2.97}
*picture wire {which can be found in the pic frame aisle} {$.97/bought 2}
*foam paint brushes {$.97}
*tube of paint {$.97}
*roll of ribbon {$1.97}

How To:
1.) lay any type of paper down while painting--i used wax paper :)
2.) this was my frame i used; however, i suggest buying a wooden frame. i accidentally bought a plastic one the looked like wood :) but plastic ones work too!

 here are the packages of picture wire that was used. each package comes with 6' of wire, i bought 2 so i could work with 12' {4 lines of 3'}

 instead of doing a clean white as the picture above, i chose this bright blue color called, Patina, because i knew this would be going in our office :)

 here is the actual color!

i painted most of it last night, but waited overnight for the paint to dry in order to finish the inside edges and outside edges as well.  side note: the paint may not cover each and every little crevice, but i was fine with that--i wanted it to look a little distressed!
this was tonight--frame was all dry and i unrolled the wire and started cutting!

this was 3' in length. i shortened it bending it three times and then twisting it together, so all the strands are intertwined. beware: hands will turn black and blue :/

the back: after twisting and attaching the four larger strands. normally with a wood black, you can use and staple gun and staple the ends down; however, since i had plastic, i used packaging tape to hold mine down..haha.

this wasn't in her directions, but i decided to incorporate it. since i want to hang mine on the wall in our office, i bought the ribbon and had mike drill two smaller holes into the top so i could string ribbon through! it worked out great :)

the ribbon i used.

the almost finished product! this is without the ribbon...i LOVE how it turned out!

ribbon included this time...now just missing the baby clothespins!

love the final product! it will look great in the office :)

 <3

i loved doing this project! mike was super proud of me and really liked how it turned out! i am thinking about making a bunch and selling them!? hmm..does that sound weird?

one last thing...
we decided on our final paint colors for the rest of the rooms--master BR, guest BR, & office! i didn't upload a pic for the kitchen color, but it will be a beigeish color :)
i am just pumped we have finally made up our minds!

master bedroom color:
blue admiral -BH&G

 guest bedroom: {much lighter than this color}
touch of lemon: BH&G

  office:
willowy white: BH&G

unfortunately, these colors are not the exact shade that we have on the swatches--i hate how computers mess up color hues sometimes :/ ...but close enough!

have a LOVELY weekend!
