perk #4547 that comes with being married...

gift cards! ...we were fortunate enough to get many gift cards from our wedding {thanks, guys ;)} i already spent our $100 to Pier 1 on our little black shelf i bought last week {which i still absolutely ADORE!} when mike and i received our gift cards, we decided that the Lowe's cards belonged to Mike, the Pier 1 & Kohl's cards belonged to me, and then we would share the Wal-Mart cards.  soooo, since the Kohl's cards were mine, i had $250 to work with! :) 

 mikey had to work on a car tonight, so instead of sitting at home by myself, i ventured to Chillicothe to give a visit to Kohl's and drop some dough on some things :)

and these were my finds for tonight :) 

OH WAIT, before i forget; some of the items i bought today are for the office. i found amazing inspiration from YoungHouseLove from when they made over their drab, empty room into a fantastic, relaxing workplace! here is their finished product:

 eeek! mike and i LOVE this office! we love how fun and inviting the room looks to work on homework/projects/etc. 

ANYWHO, here is what $235 bought me from Kohl's!

 little suede ottoman {in person, its a tad darker shade of beige}--will go in our bedroom when it is finished {$26}

mike & i had registered for these little babies, but never got them as gifts; these were one of the first things i looked for this evening. i bought 2 sets--one black & one white. the black set will go in either the living room or office; and the white set will go in the bathroom {martha stewart inspired me to put the white set in the bathroom to create more storage for our little bathroom space} see below:

i have been searching for nice, cheap suede throw pillows for our black leather couch; and what do you know!? i found them tonight!

 i am so pleased with my purchases this evening! this was my first real shopping trip to Kohl's {besides the occasional shirt or whatever}, i felt alright spending that much on stuff since it really wasn't my money that i worked for, but i wouldn't probably buy much there unless they had a great sale going on! alas, when michael came home..i displayed my finds for him to see and he loved everything! YESSS :) like i stated before, i spent $235 on all of this; however the cashier informed me that i saved $135 on my total purchase. the best part is that i returned a crock pot we received as a wedding gift because it was a double--so i already had $15 left over from gift cards, then received an extra $40 from returning the crock pot--$55 more to spend...and i already eyed my next purchase--a glass shelf for the bathroom above the sink and it's only $20 online!
